Background

Becoming a big brother had shaped Shai'a to his core. He took to his tasks of helping his mothers with his little sisters without a complaint. Whenever possible he'd be in their nursery, trying to get smiles and laughs out of the three kits. This only continued as they grew older, shifting from playing inside the nursery at night to watching them during the day. One-man shows were their favorite way to be entertained with Shai'a acting out any sort of silly and fun story he could come up with for them. And after the triplets went to bed each night, Shai'a would be rushing to write down every detail he could from the day's show. Thus began his passion for writing. All he wanted was to create rich universes that people could get lost in the way his sisters did.Yet despite all the love and support his family gave him, Shai'a still managed to mess everything up. Self-imposed expectations settled so deeply in him that he lost his sense of self. What value did a playwright have if they weren't churning out script after script? How could he be a role model for his younger sisters without proof of his work? Cracks had begun to form with every successful play. He had followed his passion, done well, and subsequently burnt out to the point that he thought he'd never write again. Shai'a had become his own worst enemy and during a particularly low moment thought it best to leave to avoid embarrassing his family further.Fleeing to the Aldenard continent only made sense. As the homeland of both his mothers, they had woven such rich and detailed tales of their time there that he'd always been curious about it. And he knew for a fact that they'd never expect him there of all places. But that knowledge alone wasn't enough to settle him. Considerable efforts were made so that in the event of ever running into anyone who may have known him, he wouldn't be recognized.Goodbye lanky twink build, hello tattooed twunk build! Comforted by the fact that even he didn't recognize himself in the mirror at times, Shai'a eventually took on odd jobs here and there before finding a permanent position as a bartender. And so far, it's given him ample opportunity to come to terms with who he is and learn how to embrace life to its fullest.

Anxiety in the form of a stretched out Miqo'te. Shai'a is surprisingly functional for someone whose poor mental health caused him to abandon everyone he loved. While working behind the bar he's painfully polite; perhaps just a bit too oblivious to any signs of flirting; and cites his newfound passion for cooking to belie the workaholic tendencies that led to his crippling imposter syndrome. (It's not work if it's fun, right?) But despite all of that, recent events have sparked efforts to improve himself. He endeavors to become a better person to prove himself worthy of the love and kindness bestowed upon him.

Shai'a loves to work out. He's been told that working out makes people happier so he started doing so in the hopes of overcoming his depression. Did it help? Not really. But he's not going to complain about his shredded new figure.

Working at a venue whose very walls are seeped in fae magic, Shai'a has learned to not question things he sees. He'll blink, smile, nod, and go about with whatever he was doing.

Shai'a can channel his aether to enchant items to move on their own. It's never a lot, mostly used to stir his coffee or turn pages in a book without having to actually lift a hand. That being said, he does have an enchanted pen that's fully capable of writing on its own. It's normally found scribbling away into whatever notebook he has open.

Being in a new place away from his family and everyone who would recognize him, Shai'a is on some kind of Eat, Pray, Love journey of self discovery. He's trying to learn how to embrace life and new experiences.
